Chanel is to donate the exhibition pavilion designed by the prize winning Irakian architect Zaha Hadid to Paris’ Institut du Monde Arabe (designed by the architect Jean Nouvel).
Commissioned by Chanel head designer Karl Lagerfeld to showcase artworks by contemporary artists inspired by the Chanel 2.55 iconic quilted bag, the Mobile Art Container toured the world and now, will be installed in front of the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris early 2011.
The Chanel Pavilon will host exhibitions in line with the centre’s policy of showcasing talent from Arab countries.
