Last night Sotheby’s in New York auctioned a rare and extremely aged blend 64-year-old Macallan single-malt whisky for $460,000 (€340,600)!

Bottled in a unique Lalique crystal decanter created using the “cire perdue” or “lost wax” method, this 64-year-old Macallan single-malt whisky is a special blend of three separate batches from the 1940s stored in Spanish sherry casks since Wolrd War II and left to age for over six decades!

Macallan distillery and Lalique are donating 100% of the proceeds to “Charity : Water Foundation” which provides access to clean and safe drinking water in developing countries!
